It's been a couple weeks since I've actually felt like writing anything here. I tried the other night, but Blogger was down for maintenance that was scheduled last November.
Anyway, work's been wearing me out. My schedule's all over the place, and my sleep is all thrown off. This week I worked 3:15 P.M. to 11:15 P.M., 11:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., 4:00 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. and then back the same day from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., and two days at 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. In that order, with two days off before my early morning office shift.
Most days I come home and sit in front of the TV for a few hours before I have to go to bed and I don't have the energy to do much else, and then my days off are spent recuperating. Funny enough, the days I have to get up at 2:45 A.M. are the days I am the most productive.
Right after I got back from Vancouver they trained me as a checker. I'm not changing jobs, just trying to supplement my hours and make myself more valuable to the company. They also just hired two new people in the fuel station, so I should be on my way out of there, and the sooner the better.
The only other big thing that's happened recently is that I bought a new laptop. My old iBook was just getting too slow. Every time I used it I would curse at it and get frustrated and stop doing things that needed to get done because I didn't want to wait for it to think for five minutes whenever I switched between applications.
I have forsaken my Apple roots and purchased a PC notebook, and I don't feel the least bit bad about it. I wanted a brand new computer, and to buy a brand new Apple equivalent to my Dell probably would have cost me at least twice as much. It's also nice to know that I can use all of the same software that's available to PC users without having to settle for an inferior version.
I've got a couple hours before I need to get ready for work, so I'm going to try and make some minor template adjustments. If it looks the same next time you visit, I probably got irritated and gave up, but I don't see that happening. If it's totally different, let me know what you think!
The next three movies I will be watching, courtesy of Netflix:
1: The House of Yes
2: In The Bedroom
3: Where The Truth Lies
