My annoying twit of a sister gave me head lice a little over a year ago, so when I pulled a wad of her hair out of my brush the other day and what I thought was a piece of lint started to crawl, I instructed her to stop using my hair brushes and not hang her towel near mine.
The next day she haughtily informed me that she didn't think it was head lice because she looked at the clump of hair in the garbage and didn't see anything. I reminded her that lice are bugs, and bugs move.
'I just don't think they're like that', she defended.
'I don't know what you mean,' I said, hoping for something less vague. All she did was repeat herself, with emphasis on different words.
'I just don't think they're like that.'
'Like what?' I asked. Is this annoying you as much as it annoyed me?
'Just. Nevermind.' she snapped and went on to ignore me.
I'd like to know just why she thinks she doesn't have lice. Does she think head lice won't crawl around on the hair in a comb or brush? How does she think people get it?
