Life On A Chain
You Were Meant For Me

Jun 29, 2005

Well, Monday was my birthday and only Connie, Danielle, and Kevin remembered it. Well, of all the people who read this blog. Even Kevin's roommate, who jumped the gun last month, forgot.

I had myself a little pity party near the end of the night, after my mom called me from the bar to say "hello" and that she would be home soon. A couple hours later she showed up and cooked bratwursts and sauerkraut for dinner. Which I hate. I can't remember the last time she didn't cook whatever I wanted for dinner on my birthday.

Kevin got me comic books for my birthday, Danielle sent me an awesome purse full of loot, and Jessica got me a bag as well, all of which are greatly appreciated. It's good to have friends!

Outside of my birthday, there hasn't really been anything going on. I'm going to visit Kevin in BC next week, and when I get back I'm going to train as a checker in the store. I managed to luck out and score a big locker at work when one of my coworkers transferred to a Safeway across the state. My 13-year-old sister has been a mega-bitch and we haven't had clean dishes in almost a week because she refuses to do them. I finally got back on birth control. I shaved my legs for the first time in six months.

In the last week I've spent about $200 on much-needed new clothes. Before I was always wearing the same three or four t-shirts, one pair of ill-fitting jeans, and two bras that were uncomfortable, not the right size, and were falling apart. My $200ish got me:
1) One pair of pink jeans with a matching belt;

2) One pink skirt (which I gave to Jessica because it was too tight and I didn't realize how bad it looked until after I got it home and saw a picture of myself in it);

3) Two bras (one pink and lacy, the other lavender and cleavage-baring) that actually fit;

4) Four shirts of varying colors;

5) One bright orange hooded cardigan with a sparkly rhinestone zipper pull;

6) And a pair of silver hoop earrings with dangly blue hearts.
Oh, and a pair of boxers for Kevin. It's a milestone in our relationship: the first time I've bought him underwear. I feel like I'm stepping on his mom's toes.

I have tomorrow off and am closing the fuel station on both Friday and Saturday nights, probably to work my usual 10:00 to 7:00 shift on Sunday morning. Add the fact that it's a holiday weekend, and by the time I leave next Thursday, I will be so ready to get away from here for a few days.

The too-tight pink skirt, the orange sweater, and proof that, yes, I am fat.

Don't forget to see what's new on my photo blog!
