I'm very, very pleased with the quality of the photos I am able to take with my new camera. I'm all about the zoom, and with the 6x optical zoom my lovely Fuji camera has, I am able to get clear, colorful close-up shots without being very near at all.
Until I get my tripod, I will probably only post pictures I've taken of other people and things. One thing my camera phone is better at is self-portraits. I just flip it shut, start the camera, and I can see the image right on the screen on the front. And there's no awkward twisting to make sure my grip on the camera allows a clear, steady shot; it just fits in my hand with a shutter release button right under my thumb. The camera phone, I mean.
What else...? I got a nasty sunburn on Monday and was beating myself up over it. I haven't been sunburned in two years, and was dreading the fade-to-tan stage since I was wearing a t-shirt and sitting in an odd position and had very interesting burn patterns on my arms. However, I need not have fretted, as I slathered some Vitamin E cream on the burn twice a day and it went away almost overnight.
Not much else is new. I've just been taking pictures like a maniac and showing off my camera to anyone who will listen, and even some who won't. I've also been running on very little sleep (6 or 7 hours a night. I need 10 or 12 to feel well-rested.) for a week or so and don't have another day off from work until Wednesday. I'm pretty exhausted. I might have to take advantage of the ADA and ask my doctor to write me a note stating that I need to not work more than four days in a row and have at least 14 hours between shifts to recuperate. I get too damned fatigued to close at 11:30, wind down for a few hours, get to sleep at 3:00, and have to be back on the clock at 11:00 the next morning. I guess part of it is my fault though, offering to work the fruit stand last weekend, and jumping at the opportunity to run a sales event in the store (that's right, the store, not the fuel station) this Saturday (a scheduled day off) hoping that I will impress them enough that they will bring me in on a more regular basis.
I will try my best to post something more substantial before the end of the weekend, but don't hate me if I don't?
