Kevin has this mentality that he's going to dress how he wants, and if he goes on a job interview and they think he looks too sloppy, that's their problem. But as far as I can tell, if he goes on a job interview wearing cross trainers and cargo pants and they give the job to someone else, it's his problem. Sure, it's not fair that a company will give a job to someone who's better dressed but maybe doesn't have the same qualifications, but that's the way the corporate world works. If a company has a casual dress code, you can dress in sneakers after you get the job, but don't figure that a casual dress code means you can wear whatever you want to the interview; you still have to make a good first impression.
Don't get me wrong, I love him the way he is and I'm not trying to change him, I'm just trying to help him get a step ahead, since he's been having trouble finding a good job since I met him almost two years ago. We all know I'm not exactly a fashion icon, but 9 times out of 10 I know what's appropriate and what's not.
